Last Friday night’s show at Wynola Pizza Express, just outside of Julian, CA, found me breaking new ground, once again! Not only was it the first time I played in a barn, in which they make some pretty darn good tasting pizza and house some of the best music fans you could ever hope to roll in the hay with but, I also managed to take the term wardrobe malfunction to another level.

Two-thirds of the way through the show, I kindly asked my friends Podunk Nowhere to cover me for a song while I tended to nature’s #1 call. Once inside the confines of my own private stall, It was then that I discovered I had no access to the relief I was seeking due to the fact that I had my boxer underwear on backwards. Now I once wore a girlfriend’s G-string for good luck but, pounding 2 glasses of water before driving an hour and a half, then having 2 adult beverages and 3 more glasses of water at the show, before I needed to go?! Now that’s ridiculous!

It is with a heavy heart, but a thankful liver, that I must dispatch such news as this. Drummer, singer, band member, thought provoking philosopher and friend Bill Coomes, will now be making music and mayhem in notorious Nashville. For those of you who have ever had the pleasure of experiencing a live, ultra sonic C. Dale Trio “Wet Willie”, you know what we’ll all be missing! Chemistry! Whenever my voice has the chance to blend with band mates Matt Silvia & Bill Coomes to create those goose bumping 3-part harmonies, my ears state matter of factly that, this is what I was born to do and who I’m supposed to be doing it with!

To know Bill and his natural talent, you can only be excited for what his future holds and wish him well! This isn’t the end of our magical, musical journey, just a change in frequency. I have found that it can be pretty easy to take for granted, those who regularly stand before and/or beside you. Now, on the much fewer occasions that we’ll undoubtedly come together, I will cherish it all the more!

Sandwich Rock

My continued love affair with sandwiches and my friends at Sandwich Emporium, have brought inspiration to my taste buds, which resulted in me writing a little tuna for my local sammy shop.
Took it and turned it into a video with a cameo from my talented young singer/songwriter friend Jake Allen. Jake likes it! He really really likes it! “Sandwich Emporium, yum yum yum yum yum….YUM!”
